Frequently asked questions
-
A virtual bookkeeper works 100% remotely, which means they can provide bookkeeping services to any small business anywhere in the country.
-
Here are just a few reasons:
• Spend your valuable time focusing on your core business needs instead of the nitty-gritty of the books
• Improve your work-life balance
• Save you money and avoid late fees (what could an extra hundred or even thousands of dollars saved each month do for you?)
• Keep your cash flow and tax write-offs organized

This is a two part answer.
According to ZipRecruiter, $47,000/year is the salary you could expect to pay when hiring a full-time bookkeeper for your business. This cost is only for the work done and does not included benefits you might be required to provide as well as other costs that come with having an employee in a physical location. Keeping this in mind, a virtual bookkeeper is a non-employee contractor. This means you are only paying for the services provided and nothing else. It’s the same benefit to you, but for a fraction of the cost.
The second way you could save money is through gaining a clearer understanding of your business’ finances. With expertly maintained books, you minimize the risk of missing opportunities for tax deductions. In addition, you can maximize profits by clearly identifying specific areas of your business that are less profitable and those areas that offer more growth potential. When your books are organized with the benefit of a professional to break down the monthly financial statements, you can make informed decisions that will grow your business and help it to run at maximum efficiency.

You want someone who is reliable, able to answer and return your calls, and knows their way around bookkeeping software. Someone who is detail oriented will give you peace of mind in knowing your books will be kept accurately.
With the right bookkeeper, you should feel comfortable asking questions and feel that you are heard. Your relationship with your bookkeeper should be just that—a relationship. This is what allows your bookkeeper to give you personalized attention and create reports that are truly relevant to your business’ needs.

That’s what’s great about this business being completely virtual! Half of my clients are out of state. For any clients not in the area, I use Google Meet for consultations and meetings. All bank statements, receipts, check requests, invoices, etc. can be shared through my secure client portal.
